The Indian ladies’s doubles pair of Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponappa have withdrawn from the upcoming Uber Cup match as a result of former’s harm, the Badminton Affiliation of India (BAI) stated on Friday.
The match is scheduled to be held in Bangkok from Might 8 to fifteen.
“Sikki Reddy has suffered a Grade 2 Tear of the Stomach (abdominis rectus) as confirmed by an MRI and has been suggested 4-6 week relaxation by the physician,” BAI normal secretary Sanjay Mishra stated in an announcement.

Earlier, the BAI on Thursday introduced Indian groups for the upcoming Asian Video games, Commonwealth Video games and Thomas and Uber Cup, following six days of choice trials on the Indira Gandhi Stadium within the nationwide capital.
Other than Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponappa, the 10-member ladies’s workforce for the Asian Video games and Uber Cup comprised PV Sindhu, Parupalli Kashyap, Ashmita Chaliha, Hooda, alongside the opposite two doubles pairs from the trials — Treesa Jolly-Gayatri P and Tanisha Crasto-Shruti Mishra.
